The last three holdouts in Gwinnett County will decide this month whether to recognize the King Day holiday in January and close their city halls.
The city of Lawrenceville will vote Monday night on whether to recognize the holiday. Lilburn and Grayson officials have said they will discuss the idea at meetings this month.

I would love to know the reasons people would vote against a King Holiday.
The reasons are probably financial. The City of Snellville's approval of the holiday will mean $10,000 spent for employees of the city to have the day off, and they are paid for that day. Even though I knew it would mean more money paid out (the taxpayers will likely pay for this), I was still 100% for the approval of it. If the Federal Government has approved it as a holiday, (what was it, TWENTY years ago?!?) it's high time we did in Snellville and Lawrenceville. Someone as great as Dr. King who made a difference in a peaceful manner, should be celebrated. He's a great role model.
