Navigating the new 316
Confusing isn't it.
(image from www.dot.state.ga.us)
So after what feels like a couple of years construction and aggravation, the new 316 overpass has been complete.
The problem before was that if you took 316 to I-85 and had to get off at the first exit (pleasant hill), you risked either having an accident or missing your exit due to not enough time to cross the four lanes (not to mention testy drivers who would not you over).
So now there's this overpass that takes you from 316 directly to pleasant hill, with an exit that will allow you to get onto 1-85 if you need to.
For someone who had spent 5 years getting the hang of the old exit it can be really confusing as the exit from 85 (for people who were already on it) is now a mile earlier, and if you are getting on I-85 at 120 (near Satellite) you are stuck on a service road for 2 miles if you are going further south.
Still, the new highway is pretty.
Drive safe.
