McKendree Elementary Teacher is "Teacher of the Year"

Mandy Collins a teacher who uses humor to teach was named Gwinnett County's Teacher of the Year. Her reward is an extra $1000.00 a year for as long as she teaches in the district. She is in the running to be Georgia's Top Teacher. She believes "there should always be an element of fun in teaching."

She's right. I had a highschool social studies teacher names Ms Sandberg. Now I don't remember the names of many teachers but she stands out because she was a crack-up. I hated social studies, but I remembered everything she said. We, the kids used to tell her that her jokes were corny, but whether the jokes were bad or good, we smiled, and laughed and remembered.
